I have thick curly hair I love my hair I just started taking the fact that i need to deal with my curls as u know my hair is so thick! and i really don't want to straighten it,but i use gels i use frizz sernem and I have some hair up and some hair down and i tried putting them in pigtails curly,and for a while it looked cute,but now it just wont work! I need someting else as u know. my hair is very thick,and when i let it down,and put hairspray and curly gel in it and scrunch my hair with it it still is poofy! I need something new! o and also i ahve LAYERS!

i have the same kind you do. i would suggest using moose as well as frizz serum it usually tends to help alot. i straighten my hair alot but i really do like my hair. i would suggest wearing your hair up while it's drying and when you put it down it usually looks better oh and NEVER blow dry it. although i suppose you already know that. anyway i usually wear mine half up half down, i hope this helps :)

First of.. find yourself a good hairstylist. I battled with your issues as well but it ended with a good hairstylist. He thins out my hair by cutting the curls indiviually while my hair is dry. He basically thins it all out, one curl at a time, leaving one long and cutting another shorter so my hair becomes much lighter and the curls have room to form nicely shaped curls. A good curl enhancing product like a foam or serum in combination with a slightely more greasy product like a wax will do the rest.
