my hair is really thick and curly and is about shoulder length (when its curly) and probably about 3/4 of the way down to my elbow when its straight. I have the Sedu (its a really nice straightener) but every time i turn it on (i have to use a pretty high heat) it automatically smells kinda like burning hair but theres nothing that i can see stuck in it. what might be wrong? also, i know you have to brush your hair before you straighten it, but how MUCH brushing? can i use a wide toothed comb or a flat paddle brush with lots of bristles? because when i use a flat paddle brush it becomes like 2 times its size and its impossible to straighten. also: any tips on how to get to the back and stuff / how should i go about straightening it so it looks really good? thankss a lot in advanced and i'd really appreciate some answers pretty soon lol (since im planning on straightening it soon =D )

Get a ceramic straigthner. It won't burn your hair. Try Jilbere Paris or Wigo. When straigthning, divide your hair. What I do is that I divide it in half first , then on each side I divide it into two layers. You might need more layers. They take some hair and straigthen away...

a good diet will make your hair healthy, which includes shine, silkiness, softness, strength, and manageability.
vitamin e is good for the hair
it is moisturizing
and vitamin a
is good for the scalp
and healthy hair growth
protein makes ur hair grow faster than anything else because
hair is basically made of protein
so
eat eggs.. and dairy products
yogurt, milk, soymilk, and tofu are great examples
citrus fruits are also good for the hair.. and seaweed has a lot of vitamin a. vitamin a can be found in leafy veggies and carrots, especially. it is important to drink enough water to keep ur hair hydrated. 8-10 glasses is suggested for healthy hair growth. also, iron plays an important role in maintaining and growing healthy hair. iron brings oxygen to the hair, allowing it to breathe like us basically
(not the same way obviously)
and so if u dont take enough iron.. ur hair will be starved of oxygen and lose its shine, luster, etc.
b vitamins are also great for the hair. salmon, coldwater fish, and sardines are great fish that contain many of the vitamins hair needs.
i hope this information helped you!!

I CAN HELP! if you want straight hair permanently, without having to straighten it every morning, i suggest you go to a KOREAN hair salon. and ask for a MAGIC PERM. its a straight perm thats lasts anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. I had it done in JULY 2004 and my hair is still very straight not frizzy!. its costly but very worth it! the cost is around $150-$220 it is guaranteed. it will take 2-4 hours. after the treatment you can't wash your hair for 2-3 days and after that your hair will automatically look healthy and shiny and straight. try it!
