Hey there, I'm 22 and have hair just like yours!! I don't straighten it because i feel like i never have time. if you're ok with it being curly my best suggestion is to put just a small amount of lotion in it when it's still wet. It weighs the curls down a little and makes them shiny and sleek. It also makes them smell great all day :)

If you just want to get it out of your face, brush it before you shower. Then put it back in a pony tail while it is wet. The front should straiten out (a little) from being back and at least that will help. You could also get it layered so it lays better. I have curly hair too but, not as curly as yours. I have like Robert Plant curls.

After you take a shower. Brush your hair really well. While you are doing it, put in hairspray. That way while it is staright with the brush it can stay like that the rest of the day!

Good Luck! :)

If you're having issues with curly hair, you should ask your mum to check out a book all about curly hair and how to take care of it so it looks amazing.

Its called Curly Girls by Lorraine Massey with Deborah Chiel.

You can also order it off of Amazon.

It's a REALLY usefull book.

I know how you feel. I am a melting pot of races. I have native american indian, irish, caucasion, and only God knows what else! (my mom's dad was adopted and died when she was 4. I don't know what else is in me). I've got thick course curly hair. Some times I used to feel like a girl attached to my hair. What I have found that works. Keep your hair really conditioned. Products that I've found works for my hair are: Sun Silk Anti-Poof, Matrix Biologe Hyddrating Shampoo and Conditioner, and Redkin Riglet 07. I got a haircut with mutliple layers (combination of small, chunky, and long layers). That made it easy for me to tame my hair. Talk to your hairstylist about some layering cuts that would tame the curl. My hair went from nappy curly to beautiful wavy with just a layered a layered cut. I didn't take off the length. Don't use the falt iron all the time. It could damage your beautiful hair. Think about how lucky we are to be the girls with the beautiful curls.

ok, I have heard it all before, but I have also heard that putting lotion in is not good. Ouidad hair products are a possiblity, even if the products( pricey) dont change your hair, they will change the way you feel about your hair.

One relly good product that not many people know about is citre shine. It works VERY well on curly hair- it is like a serum.

I am also a big fan of tresemme and paul mitchell

Good Luck! I know it can be difficult.

your best bet would be a curl activator. Silking makes a curl activator cream that works great. oh and don't ever put lotion in your hair because you have to wash it out every day and that will dry out your hair faster then anything

I am mixed too, with black %26amp; chinese. I have thick curly hair with the small/tight curls. I've been trying and trying to find something to do with my hair, and I think I've got it.

I use Garnier Fructis Curl %26amp; Shine shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner (just incase you wanted to know some shampoo's %26amp; such).

As for products, I use a gloss (I don't know the name, sorry!)Sunsilk Frizz Ease 24/7 creme (green bottle), and Tresseme Curl Care mousse.

I apply the gloss first, to wet hair (you can just stick your head under the sink every morning, you don't actually have to wash your hair). After that, I apply the creme. Sometimes for hold I'll use the mousse, but its not necassary.

I always let my hair air dry, but some people use a diffuser which defines curls.

Some tips I have is when you go to sleep, put your hair in some sort of bun (on the top of your hair so it won't be in your way when you sleep). This will keep it from being wild in the morning. Another tip is I never comb my hair unless I'm washing it (if you need to comb your hair, finger comb while wetting it). This keeps in the curl. Also, always style your hair with wet hair, unless of course you are straightening it. And last but not least, I squeeze dry my hair, which also keeps in curls.

I have my hair layered, but get long layers if you do or your hair will poof up (embarassingly. Been there, done that). This does thin it out somewhat.

I must admit, my hair is so thick that not all of my hair curls up like a famous star, but this helps me soo much, and it leaves my hair with nice curls %26amp; frizz free. It also stays all day, through softball %26amp; conditioning, so you won't have to worry about it going bleh on you through out the day.

I hope this helps, %26amp; good luck!
