i have naturally curly hair and i have been flat ironing it for months now. but when i wash it now my hair is more straight than curly. what can i do to bring back my natural curls and does the texture of hair change with age

Your hair was forced to be straight for so long, it started to be straight. If you stop straightening it for a while, it will get curlier again.

use some curl enhancing shampoos, conditioners, stylers, etc

as new hair grows in, it will be more curly as well, just don't straighten it as often.

you can get a curly perm and too much heat damages hair so stay away from flat iron and curling iron and wash it with lots of conditioner

I had the same problem, I always had my hair straight but when I tried to put it curly it looked horrible. So what I did was cut my hair in layers and I had alot of bad hair days, until I got my curls back, but it's looser curls. And when I put my hair straight, I made sure I wash it out the same day.

Your hair can't be less curly because you straightening all the time. Here is what is happening:

1) Either the heat of the iron damaged your (thin?) hair,

2) Either you are in some special point of age (teenager, motherhood....) that your hormones changed the texture of your hair. Before curly now weavy or straight. If this is the case you may also notice a slightly change on the shade as well.
